SC&R Foundation Announces New Officers

During the SC&RA Annual Conference, April 17-21, at the SC&RA Annual Conference, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, Austin, Texas, the SC&R Foundation announced its officers for 2012-2013.  Earl Johnson III of Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc./Southern Crane will serve as President, Robert Moore of NBIS will serve as Vice President and Jim Sever of PSC Crane & Riggging will serve as Treasurer.

Nucor Vice President Elected to AISC Board

The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Utermark, vice president and general manager of Nucor-Yamato Steel and Nucor Castrip Arkansas, to its Board of Directors. Confirmed during AISC’s recent quarterly meeting, Utermark will immediately begin serving on the AISC Board of Directors, assisting with the organization’s planning and leadership in the steel construction industry.

Forging Industry Association Elects Mike Ulven to its Board of Directors

During the 2012 Annual Meeting for The Forging Industry Association, Mike Ulven of the Ulven Companies was elected as the newest member of the FIA Board of Directors. Located in Cleveland, Ohio, The Forging Industry Association is comprised of 116 North American producers of forged metal components. There are also roughly 86 additional members that supply equipment, materials, services or supplies to the industry. The Association has been functioning since 1913 and has as their mission to “improve members global competitiveness.”

ICUEE 2013 Chair Named

Mark Core, vice president marketing and lifecycle management for Vermeer Corporation, Pella, Iowa, has been named chair of the 2013 ICUEE exposition, to be held October 1-3, 2013 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Core leads the show’s managing committee, which represents a cross section of industry volunteer company executives to ensure the exposition meets the needs of all market segments.

Southern Wire Modernizes Olive Branch Distribution Center; Welcomes New Team Member to Sales Department

Southern Wire, a division of Houston Wire and Cable Co, is proud to announce the recent reengineering of their Olive Branch warehouse facility has been completed.  The goal was to create a well-lit, safe, high efficiency space while maintaining excellent flow of shipping and receiving processes.  Re-racking, high efficiency lighting, bar coding improvements, space utilization improvements, and additional reeling capacity are all now on line.  Each of these projects was completed with zero service interruptions to Southern Wire’s customers.

Parnell to Speak at Crane & Rigging Conference Canada

Mike Parnell, president and CEO of Industrial Training International, Woodland, Wash., is the latest in a series of high-profile speakers to confirm their services to MCM Events’ second Crane & Rigging Conference (CRC) Canada, which will return to Edmonton, Alberta, and it will be held at the Sutton Place Hotel on Sept. 13-14, 2012. IADC Names Colville as New President, Succeeding 28 Year Vet Dr. Lee Hunt

The International Association of Drilling Contractors announces the appointment of Stephen A. Colville to the position of President. This follows the retirement of Dr. Lee Hunt, who has held that office for the past 22 years. Mr Colville assumes his new position on 1 March.

LEEA Elects Phil White As New Chair and President

Phil White, joint managing director of Servtech, has been elected chair of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA). He replaces Chris Towne, who has completed his two year tenure in the post.
