Acquisition Expands WireCo Footprint into Australia

WireCo WorldGroup Inc. (WireCo), global leader in producing and marketing of wire rope, electromechanical cable and a major producer of wire products announces a new sales structure and increased level of service to the Australian continent with its recent acquisition of (Royal) Lankhorst Euronete Group B.V.

Lankhorst Euronete Australia Pty Ltd (LEA or Old Fisheries Supply) with a location on the Gold Coast in Queensland will continue to sell maritime ropes, commercial fishing gear and lifting gear.  In addition, LEA will now be able to offer high quality wire ropes and synthetic ropes for mining, oil and gas, offshore, cranes, maritime and fishing.

WireCo Senior Vice President, Wolfgang Oswald commented, “With this acquisition WireCo has established a wholly owned subsidiary that will serve as a home base for all activities in this region. This will allow WireCo to provide a level of service to our customers that is second to none in the industry.  The merger of Lankhorst Euronete Australia, an established leader in the synthetics sector focusing on offshore, maritime and fishing, with WireCo’s regional sales presence focusing on steel and synthetic solutions for cranes, mining and oil & gas has brought our presence on this continent to the next level.“

Staff in Australia will remain the same. Thorsteinn Benediktsson will continue to serve as the Managing Director and Andrew Sciacca as the Sales Manager.   An added resource to the group, will be Denis Nucibella, an experienced WireCo engineer with an emphasis in the mining industry, serving as a support to our sales staff and customers regarding technical issues.
