ESCO’s New Mining Lip System Wins Award for Innovation

magazineawardlogoMining Magazine recently released its 2012 award winners, and ESCO Corp’s Nemisys was highlighted for innovation in the Surface Mining (Soft-Rock) category.  The Nemisys is a ground-engaging tool system that has a slim lip design and matching tooth system that requires on average 10% less force to penetrate material. The streamlined profile also optimises production and machine working cycles. The Nemisys system is available in four sizes to fit large excavators, draglines and cable shovels.

A lighter weight lip better sized to today’s machines and a streamlined profile optimizes production and machine working cycles. The new tooth and shroud system with hammerless locking helps reduce maintenance costs through improved reliability, faster and safer replacement, and improved lip coverage. The Nemisys system offers:

  • Four system sizes to fit large excavators, draglines and cable shovels
  • Slim lip design and matching tooth system that require 10% less force to penetrate on average
  • Up to 19% more usable wear metal on teeth for more uptime
  • Lips that weigh 7% less on average to enable additional carrying capacity
  • 20% larger thrust face area on the system nose for better reliability
  • Contoured lip that reduces peak stresses by a minimum of 12%
  • Shrouds and adapters that cover up to 77% more area on the frontal lip edge​​​​​​
