Low_Headroom_Spacemaster_SX_HMIR&M Materials Handling, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Spacemaster SX is the first wire rope hoist platform to receive the HMI-Certified License. HMI-CertifiedSM is a registered asset of the Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI). This certification is verified by U.S. registered professional engineers and designates that the SX wire rope hoist meets FEM, DIN and EN standards. The purpose of the HMI- Certified program is to instill buyer and user confidence in the product by assuring it meets one or more recognized industry standards and the licensee is committed to safety, service and after market support.

First introduced in 2001, the Spacemaster SX wire rope hoist represents an innovative design that includes a large drum diameter giving it the lowest headroom and best wheel loads in the industry. Standard configurations include normal headroom, low headroom and double girder trolley designs and it has capacities ranging from 1⁄2 – 80 ton.

“This is a significant achievement and milestone for R&M and our SX wire rope hoist platform. R&M has long been a leader in the manufacture and distribution of electric wire rope hoisting equipment along with our accompanying overhead traveling crane components and modular crane packages. Having the SX platform recognized as HMI- Certified will create additional awareness and confidence in the quality and safety that it delivers to our distributors and end-users alike,” comments Jim Vandegrift, President of R&M Materials Handling, Inc.
