Gaylin; is one of the largest Singapore-based multi-disciplinary specialist providers of rigging and lifting solutions to the global oil and gas industry. Established in 1974 over the past 40 years they have constantly expanded their engineering capabilities, their comprehensive range of inventory as well as their presence in Asia.

With offices and warehousing facilities in Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Korea, their typical customers include oil rig and vessel owners and operators, shipbuilders, charterers and drilling and mooring contractors.

With a host of business credentials, awards, safety certificates and general good practice and environmental accolades, Modulift is very excited to be joining forces with such a quality assured and trusted Asian partner, maintaining their own well- respected name whilst adding to Modulift’s sweeping worldwide supplier network.

Transcorp and GE Partner to Improve Power Generation in Nigeria

tony-elumeluTranscorp Ughelli Power Ltd (TUPL), the power subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), and General Electric (GE) have signed an agreement to expand the capacity of TUPL’s Ughelli power plant by1000MW over the next 3 to 5 years.

Both parties have also signed a separate agreement to rehabilitate the damaged GT 15 turbine at the Ughelli plant, which will add 115MW to the plant’s output. Continue reading

LGHLifting Gear Hire (LGH) recently donated a Modular 24 Spreader Beam with top rigging to help the Building Community Making Connections (BCMC) and Operation Finally Home. LGH donated a Mod 24 spreader beam with rigging to help place the roof on a deserving soldier’s new home in San Antonio, Texas.

BCMC partnered with Operation Finally Home to build a home for a deserving United States Veteran. Specialist Cody Nusbaum’s unit was ambushed by Taliban fighters disguised as Afghan police officers on August 24, 2011. Since that day Cody has gone through over 65 surgeries. After a series of revolutionary procedures to repair his hip and leg, and five months of painful physical therapy, Cody recently took his first steps–fifteen months after the attack.  Continue reading

Joint Venture to Manufacture Guardianline – Non-Conductive Tagline

Yorkshire, UK based safety products manufacturer, Tagattach Limited announced today they are to jointly manufacture Guardianline in collaboration with Insulatus Inc. Headquartered in Ohio USA.

Tagattach manufacture a range of taglines which protect the ground operator from injury and replace rope which can become knotted, tangled or frayed. Insulatus manufacture a range of load bearing and tagline insulators which insulate and protect personnel in contact with the load, from electrocution of up to 25kV rms, in the event of the crane or load line contacting an overhead power line. Palfinger and Sany to Expand Partnership

Palfinger and Sany are each to acquire a 10 percent stake in the other company further expanding their joint venture partnership formed last year.

Half of the 10 percent stake in Palfinger to be acquired by Sany (1,863,258 shares) will take the form of new shares issued to Sany by Palfinger. The other half of the stake is through the acquisition of existing shares from the Palfinger family. The price payable by Sany will be €29 a share.

Hertz Selects Turner Construction to Build New Florida Headquarters

The Hertz Corp. last week announced that Turner Construction Co. has been selected to build the Hertz worldwide headquarters facility in Estero, Fla. Hertz expects to break ground later this year and complete construction in 2015.

Hertz announced on May 7 that it would relocate its worldwide headquarters to Southwest Florida from Park Ridge, N.J. The company selected a site at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Williams Road in Estero for the location of its new headquarters building. As of October, Hertz will establish temporary headquarters operations in Naples, Fla., while the Estero building is under construction. The company estimates that 400 jobs could be filled locally, with approximately 300 positions being filled by Hertz employees relocating to the Estero area.
