Transcorp Ughelli Power Ltd (TUPL), the power subsidiary of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp), and General Electric (GE) have signed an agreement to expand the capacity of TUPL’s Ughelli power plant by1000MW over the next 3 to 5 years.
Both parties have also signed a separate agreement to rehabilitate the damaged GT 15 turbine at the Ughelli plant, which will add 115MW to the plant’s output. Continue reading
Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) recently donated a Modular 24 Spreader Beam with top rigging to help the Building Community Making Connections (BCMC) and Operation Finally Home. LGH donated a Mod 24 spreader beam with rigging to help place the roof on a deserving soldier’s new home in San Antonio, Texas.
BCMC partnered with Operation Finally Home to build a home for a deserving United States Veteran. Specialist Cody Nusbaum’s unit was ambushed by Taliban fighters disguised as Afghan police officers on August 24, 2011. Since that day Cody has gone through over 65 surgeries. Palfinger and Sany are each to acquire a 10 percent stake in the other company further expanding their joint venture partnership formed last year.
Half of the 10 percent stake in Palfinger to be acquired by Sany (1,863,258 shares) will take the form of new shares issued to Sany by Palfinger. The other half of the stake is through the acquisition of existing shares from the Palfinger family. The price payable by Sany will be €29 a share.
The Hertz Corp. last week announced that Turner Construction Co. has been selected to build the Hertz worldwide headquarters facility in Estero, Fla. Hertz expects to break ground later this year and complete construction in 2015.
Hertz announced on May 7 that it would relocate its worldwide headquarters to Southwest Florida from Park Ridge, N.J. The company selected a site at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Williams Road in Estero for the location of its new headquarters building. As of October, Hertz will establish temporary headquarters operations in Naples, Fla., while the Estero building is under construction. The company estimates that 400 jobs could be filled locally, with approximately 300 positions being filled by Hertz employees relocating to the Estero area.
Sauer-Danfoss has officially changed its name to Danfoss and now operates as a new business segment called Danfoss Power Solutions within the Danfoss Group. Danfoss is globally recognized for its innovative, energy-efficient solutions in a variety of industries, and adopted the Sauer-Danfoss business into its business structure through the acquisition earlier this year.
