Live equipment demonstrations, nationally accredited certification examinations, education sessions, and practical examiner training will all go to make for the largest ever participation at any construction event in almost two decades by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators(NCCCO) at the forthcoming CONEXPO/CON-AGG, the Virginia-based non-profit organization has announced.
New candidates and existing certificants alike will be given an opportunity to take a wide variety of ANSI-accredited and OSHA-compliant CCO written, practical, and recertification exams atCONEXPO/CON-AGG, to be held March 4–8, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV. And thanks to NCCCO’s “Visit CONEXPO—Leave Certified” program featuring onsite scoring and immediate test results, successful candidates will be able to walk away from the event certified. Manitowoc will introduce a new range of lattice-boom crawler cranes at ConExpo 2014. Among them will be the 180 ton (165 t) capacity Manitowoc MLC165, which makes its U.S. debut at the show. The crane will be joined by two completely new crawler cranes — details for which will be revealed at the show.
The Manitowoc MLC165 is designed for the global market. The crane was first shown at the bauma 2013 tradeshow in Germany. ConExpo marks its official launch stateside. Continue reading
