NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Corporation (“NCSG”), Northwest Capital Appreciation (“NCA”) and TriWest Capital Partners (“TriWest”) announced today that they have signed an Agreement pursuant to which TriWest and Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund (“ATRF”, and together with TriWest, the “Investor Group”) shall acquire a majority interest in NCSG from its existing shareholders. Canadian crane group NCSG – previously Northern Crane – has acquired the assets of Doug’s Crane of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, from Broadwater Industries.
Doug’s Crane was founded in 1984 by Doug Mackereth and provides a full service crane operation in the Prince Rupert region which is growing rapidly in preparation for a number of LNG facilities that are planned. It runs a small and fairly dated fleet of cranes topped out by an 82 ton Link Belt 218 truck crane. Continue reading
Canadian crane rental company Northern Crane has changed its name to NC Services Group or NCSG and has agreed the acquisition of S.S. Pevach Ventures which trades as Scorpion Industries.
Edmonton based NCSG will acquire all outstanding shares in the Bonnyville, Alberta company from founders Shawn and Sonia Pevach who set the business up in 2001. Scorpion is a leading supplier of fully operated boom trucks up to 45 tons, and oilfield services in the shale and heavy oil regions of Alberta, such as Bonnyville/Cold Lake, Wabasca and Conklin.
